On June 6th, the Luciana Matalon Foundation will inaugurate with Drusian the exhibition “A un soffio dal cielo, a un palmo da terra” by Elena Rede, edited by Giovanni Faccenda.
In the various fields of her work (painting, sculpture, jewellery) you can appreciate a fundamental constant: the “urgency of beauty”. Eclectic and sophisticated, Elena Rede focuses her research on bodies of men and women through a new representation that has distinguished her from the beginning.
According to artist Luca Alinari, “Elena Rede never completes the images she is creating. […] Perhaps the magic of her work comes from its apparent incompleteness, its unfinished sense. Maybe, though, Elena does not want to paint female bodies or horses. She would rather represent the evocation of a horse, the idea of a body. Ideas, then. Ideas and not things. Here is the fascinating mental quality of her work.
The exhibition will be open from June 6th to 17th at the Matalon Foundation, at n. 67 of Foro Buonaparte in Milan (10am – 7pm, on Sundays and Mondays it will be closed).
